My name is Jessica and I just got engaged to the love of my life.
I was never the girl to dream of white a white dress, a husband and picket fence when I was a little girl. I was never against marriage but I just had other priorities that included college, a career following my passion, making a difference in the world and having as much fun as possible.
I consider myself marriage illiterate. Sure, I have seen it on TV, my parents were married and I have a few friends who have tied the knot. However, the notion that I might get married was never really on my radar so I mainly observed from a distance in a kind of esoteric way and certainly never paid attention to the details of what it took to make this thing called a wedding.
I started this blog as a way to document my adventure of discovery of how to plan my wedding so my friends and family can follow along if they need some late-night reading material. I doubt there are many that will read this regularly but it is a way for me to journal about my crazy thoughts, feelings, discoveries about the wonders of a wedding and document this process in some organized, regular fashion.
I live in Seattle, WA with my FIANCE (as of May 7th, 2011) AND two weiner dog children. I am an active, avid adventurer that loves running, hiking, snowboarding, biking (especially downhill mountain biking), travelling and photography. Mountain biking is actual what first brought me and my fiancé together.
I work full-time for a local City as a water quality specialist (rivers and streams and stuff, not the stuff that comes out of your faucet). I am also a semi-professional photographer, part-time life coach and blogger ( I blog about hiking adventures with my dogs at http://www.YouDidWhatWithYourWeiner.com)
If you have found yourself here, thank you for taking time to read and comment on my ramblings. I can use all the advice I can get 🙂
Here is my little family
Fiancé, best friend, doggy daddy, bike mechanic, adventurer and love of my life.
